January 31st, 2021 (from the archives)

Airborn   *   Chris - May 2016   &   Max - August 2020 …

Wednesday, January 27th     Fondly looking back some 60 years when restoring/rebuilding the High School ride was a serious work in progress…
Every nut, bolt, washer, wire, (whatever) was repaired, rebuilt, replaced, plated, painted, wirebrushed, lubed, and/or refinished.
There were many, many, 'flat tires' on that unmapped road to recess…

Found & mated (tight squeeze) a Volvo B16B engine & 4 speed transmission (6V/negative ground) into the 1950 MGTD (12V/positive ground).   About 15 fun years to completion.
Used a Bosch 12 Volt starter & a Lucas 12 Volt generator with a rear shaft attachment for the mechanical tach drive. (Two of the easier solutions in the rebuild.)

Needed two electric SU fuel pumps to exceed 80 mph, 0 - 60 (11 seconds), & top speed around 95mph est., all thanks to an outrageous, original 4.89:1 rear axel…

The MG(T) car club expressed understandably mixed emotions.   But, the Volvo TD cruised very comfortably at 65 - 70 mph and always arrived & returned flawlessly from anywhere we went for the next 17 years…

The 1954 Austin Healey 100-4 was another waiting project.   But in terms of hindsight, experience, and 'Once Was Enough' we sold it as is…

Sunday, January 24th     Passed through Firemen's Park hiking the Bruce Trail.

Being a huge fan of (portrait) photographer Annie Leibovitz, I kinda pushed these iPhone captures as much as was able, in her amazing direction…
Darker shadows, a light, and pursuing ominous, but... there's only so much one can accomplish with frozen meatballs in a plastic bag (left).

January 18th   What a great   Good Morning!   smile,   a treasured photo just received.

Time spent in Newfoundland is time well spent.   (Labrador's sometime next.)   Archives~Travels~2015 above top right…

Aside: For the most part we are a rugged band of adventurers.   That said, a soft warm bed, a sturdy shed, sunsets ahead, well washed & fed, a good book read, giddyup…

He's 12 now, and as tall as his mom…

Sunset Bay, Wainfleet.   Push Ice.   Early January 2004…

January 8th   On-Line School at the kitchen table…

Three (3) steps to a better foil jibe…
